Icons

This series of images celebrates a collection of iconic historic buildings on the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands. I wanted to portray these historic buildings, that we see from the same perspective every day, in such a way as to make the observer have to study the image to understand which building it actually was. Additionally I wanted to highlight each building in a way to make it stand out from it's surroundings but at the same time maintain a subtle glimpse of it's surroundings for context within the landscape. The resulting images formed a stand alone image that resembled an icon on a computer desktop and therefore gave birth to the title of the series which captures both the image type and the iconic nature of the structures captured, which are all iconic local landmarks to our island . . .
