While on the Chobe River, on a boat, I noticed an African Pied Kingfisher flying around, looking as though he was fishing, and indeed he was.... He paused and hovered fluttering his wings while looking for a meal of a little fish / frog. These birds are erratic fliers, and give no warning of when they will dive or fly off, so I just kept my finger on the shutter button, and my thumb down on the AF-ON button , and just managed to capture the splash beneath him, as he hit the water. Moments later he broke the surface, and took off, and I just kept both thumb and forefinger down for a few seconds, and he was gone... To the naked eye, it was impossible to see if he had been successful, but when editing my images, I had captured a 24 frame sequence.... This frame is as he came out of the water with his meal.
