A fisherman in the early morning on Lake Titicaca/Wiñaymarka. His fishing net is empty. Environmental problems of the lake lead to worse conditions for fishermen. The freshwater Lake is suffering more and more the consequences of overfishing, a continuously sinking watertable and pollution due to wastewaters from the surrounding towns, agriculture, heavy metals from industry and mining. For the people at the highest navigable Lake in the world (3810 m) life at all times was shaped by struggle for survival. The southern part of the lake belongs to Bolivia. The northern part to Peru.
